What

Berea Fest VI. A celebration of national and local DIY music and the community it creates. With support from all who are involved, we can create something that is relevant on our own terms. We all have the ability to inspire and impact each other and the world around us.

Where

276 East Bagley Road Berea, OH 44017 (Berea is just outside of Cleveland, Ohio).

When

July 15th and 16th

How Much

$5.00 for each show. We take pride in the fact that there are no sponsors for this event. The existence of this event is supported by the people who attend. Some of the money goes to pay for gas for out of town bands. The rest of the money is a fundraiser for the Berea Children’s Home and another local charity. Last year we raised $2525.00 for them! Let’s top that!!!

To the People Coming to the Show

Please respect the place that is hosting the event. Berea Fest is a safe space which means we expect bands and attendees to respect each other in their actions and language.  Also, please respect the space.  Please help us to uphold this.  This is a community event, if you see or hear something that is disrespectful or offensive please say something.  Sexist, racist, classist, homophobic, transphobic, or any other nonsense is not tolerated. We would like this event to continue for years to come. Help keep Berea Fest's reputation positive by respecting the city as a whole. It will be hot! Bring a water bottle! This cuts down on waste and keeps you hydrated. Also, be sure to recycle. This event is yours, so if there is something going on that you like, support it. If there is something negative going on, help address the issue. We want this event to be comfortable and welcoming to everyone!

Bring food for yourself and for the bands! There was a bunch of food last year, lets make it happen again.

Need A Place To Sleep?

There are some Bereans and Clevelanders opening up their homes/families homes and backyards to let the out of towners stay. There are a lot of people to take care of for the weekend (over 100 just in bands) and not really many punk houses.

Sleepover Board

Local People post their name, phone number, and how many people they can have sleep at their house. Out of town people post name, phone number, and how many people need a place to stay. This worked really well last year. So if you are not sure where you are staying before you get to Berea, post on the board at the show and hopefully youll find a place to stay as well as make some new friends!

We Need Volunteers

Recycling/trash

We need people to encourage recycling throughout the show.  We need people to help check and take out the trash periodically throughout the event.  To help out email

Bathroom Duties

Keep an eye on the bathrooms.  Make sure they are stay usable and stocked with supplies.

End of Night Clean Up

You know, clean up post show. Cleaning up outside including picking up cigarette butts, making sure the grass/bushes are trash free and sweeping parking lot. As well as sweeping, mopping, and picking up trash inside. This is where we usually need the most help. You can just help with this, you dont need to ask, just stick around.

Food

Feel free to bring food to share (vegetarian/vegan preferred). We will have a table dedicated to food for everyone. Please label food with common allergies/vegan/vegetarian.  For the bands, there will be food provided for you.

Want to help cook for the bands?

To help cook on Friday please come at 4pm.
To help cook on Saturday please come at 11am.
We will have a menu prepared with jobs to do!

Interested In Tabling?

Berea Fest has limited tabling space due to all of the bands and their merchandise that helps them cover travel expenses. All bands playing will have table space. If you are a non-band interested in tabling at this year's Berea Fest, please e-mail Ryan @ Gorillabiscuit2003 at yahoo dot com. We have a few record/zine distros that we (the organizers) invite to attend because of their continued support and impact on the international DIY punk community. We also ask a couple of community groups and an environmental non-profit to table. That being said, the tabling space is VERY limited and not everyone who applies will be awarded a spot. Please be understanding of our restricted ability to include all those interested. The selection process is always difficult.

In the e-mail, please include your name and the name of your organization. Also, please briefly mention why you want to table and what your table will consist of. Failure to e-mail = No table space. Sorry.

To the Bands

It would be awesome if you were there to support as much of the event as you can! So please come both days. There will be places to stay but come prepared. If you have a tent, bring it, bring a sleeping bag etc. The set changes are quick and there are a ton of bands! Please share as much of the equipment as you can (drums especially).  If you are particular about what you play you can bring your own stuff, we will have an "on deck" spot designated for bands to keep things moving.  If you are using your own things please have it ready to put on stage in the "on deck" area to keep the set changes quick and efficient.  Pay attention to your set length. There will be a drum set with hardware (bring your own cymbals, snare, kick), a bass cab and head (feel free to bring your own head), two guitar cabs (bring your own head), a Fender Deville 2x12 tube combo amp and PA with plenty of mics. If you need something else beyond these things please let us know.

Question or concerns e-mail pat at shoutoutloudprints dot com

We will not book any band through a booking group/agent, period...ever.

We couldn’t possibly have every band play that we wanted to play. We worked hard to make an inclusive and enjoyable line up, so please do not be offended if you are not playing. There is always room for more fests/shows. Do it! We know you can. DIY!

Berea Fest is drug and alcohol free. Please no pets for their safety as well as everyone else in attendence. thanks!

Love, Berea Fest!
